I’m proud to introduce you to The Daily English Podcast.
It’s a podcast designed to help English learners reach automatic comprehension of English!

That’s right, you can hear my voice speaking about a wide range of topics in British English to help you improve 365 days a year! 😀
It’s a lot of work as you can imagine, but it’s totally worth it help English learners around the world make their dreams come true.
“Success leaves clues” – Tony Robbins
“I don’t have a talent for learning languages”
“I’m terrible at languages”
Most people believe that special talent is required to learn languages.
I hear these sentences almost everyday when I speak with my English students. I have to admit I held these beliefs too years ago when I didn’t know much about the language learning process. I’m more experienced now and I know better. I’m certain that anyone can learn a foreign language – sure, some people are more skilled at language learning, but there are always going to be people with better skills than you in every area of life.
Instead of using this fact as an excuse for not succeeding, we should instead learn from those with more experience and more skills.
I’ve recorded an Interview with Anthony Lauder a native English speaker with a Ph.D in Computer Science. He describes himself as a really bad language learner, yet he’s learned to speak fluent Czech, conversational French, survival level German and he’s also learning Italian.
You might wonder how a “bad language learner” has achieved so much…
Have a listen to our conversation to find out.
Hint: anyone can learn a language, but whatever you do, don’t give up!
“What do you do outside of the class is more important than what you do inside of the class! – Teacher David”
I say that at least once during every English class with my students.
Why do I say this?
Well, there are loads of reasons, but here are a few:
- You spend more time outside of English classes than you do inside, therefore, you have more opportunities to improve your English outside of English classes! Invest your time wisely!
- If words are not in your head, they certainly won’t come out of your mouth. Yes, you need to speak to improve your speaking, but you also need words to speak! Where will those words come from? Listening and reading!
- Language learning is mostly about developing the right habits. How are habits formed? By doing a set of actions REPEATEDLY. There are countless opportunities for repetition outside of an official class with a teacher. for
Every time I repeat myself I feel like I’m beating a dead horse.
So, I decided to contact the man who discovered the way languages are really learned.
I’m not exaggerating. This man is a legend! If you want to speak a foreign language well. You have to know Dr. Stephen Krashen.
I remember studying his hypothesis when I was at university. I was instantly amazed. His theory changed the way that I learn and teach languages and I hope that is does the same for you.
I’ve included a link to the audio below and a sample of the transcript. This was a REALLY interesting and informative chat and I’’m sure you won’t be disappointed.
